Flying Angels Track & Field is seeking a passionate, dependable, and motivated Youth Development coach to join our growing coaching team.

As a Flying Angels coach, you'll have the opportunity to develop athletes, inspire confidence, and make a lasting impact on young people through sport.

POSITION DETAILS

Position Title: Youth Development Coach

Department: Coaching

Program: Athlete Development and/or Competitive Team

Position Type: Part-Time Independent Contractor

Location(s): Durham, Peel, Halton, York Region, Toronto, Hamilton, Waterloo

Reports To: Head Coach / Program Supervisor

Start Date: Immediately

ABOUT THE POSITION

As a Youth Development Coach, you will plan and deliver high-quality training sessions while helping athletes develop the technical, physical, and mental skills required to succeed.

You'll work with elementary-aged athletes.

You'll be responsible for creating a positive, safe, and supportive environment where athletes are encouraged to work hard, enjoy the sport, and achieve their personal best.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Flying Angels coach, you will:

Plan and lead organized, engaging training sessions
Teach proper event-specific technique
Develop athletes according to their age and ability
Encourage confidence, discipline, and sportsmanship
Monitor athlete progress and provide constructive feedback
Prepare athletes for competitions
Maintain a safe and positive training environment
Communicate professionally with athletes, parents, and staff
Work collaboratively with the Flying Angels coaching team

QUALIFICATIONS

We're looking for individuals who:

Enjoy working with children and youth
Demonstrate leadership and professionalism
Are dependable and punctual
Have strong communication skills
Work well as part of a coaching team
Create positive learning environments
Are committed to athlete development

Previous coaching experience is an asset but is not be required for this position.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Preference may be given to applicants with experience in one or more of the following:

Track and field coaching
Competitive athletics
Physical Education
Kinesiology
Recreation
Sport Management
Teaching
Youth leadership
Coaching other sports

Equivalent experience will also be considered.

WORK SCHEDULE

Schedules vary depending on the location and season.

Coaching opportunities may include:

Weekday evening practices
Camps and clinics

Specific schedules will be discussed during the recruitment process.

COMPENSATION

Compensation is competitive and varies depending on the coaching assignment, qualifications, experience, and responsibilities.

Additional details will be discussed with selected applicants during the hiring process.
